On Monday, November 16th EasCare Ambulance participated in a drill with the Boston University National Emerging Infectious Disease Lab (NEIDL) and Boston Medical Center. The goal of the drill was to solidify transport decisions and logistics when transporting minor injuries that may occur at the NEIDL and potentially infectious lab workers who are undergoing home observations and become ill. The EasCare NEIDL team successfully mitigated both scenarios flawlessly and both patients were transported safely to the Patient Isolation Unit at Boston Medical Center. The day's success has brought the NEIDL team one step closer to obtaining its BSL-4 certification. Slow and directed movement coupled with extensive training helped to ensure the safe transport of these patients. Great job EasCare!
