A message from the President: What we are doing to keep you safe
March 12th, 2020
Dear Valued Customer:
COVID-19 (coronavirus) has been in the news a great deal lately, and I am writing to reassure you that here at Brewster, Eascare, and CMTI, your healthcare and well-being is our top priority.
Thank you for choosing us as your medical transportation provider. Your continued confidence inspires us to deliver the signature Brewster experience that has been our passion for many years.
Safety is and always will be job one at our companies. Not only is safety built into the DNA of everything we are as a company, but also that priority bears repeating in the face of any challenge, including the concerns posed by coronavirus. At Brewster, we have worked for years to ensure the safety of our team members and customers. Since January, our Infectious Disease Unit (IDU) has been activated to ensure we are working closely and in coordination with government agencies, our own infectious disease medical staff, municipalities, and healthcare facilities across the entire Brewster network to support our customers during their transportation needs. Let me share some of the steps we are taking.
1-Our Infectious Disease Unit (IDU) is comprised of communications, operations, clinical, medical director epidemiologist, logistics maintenance, and finance staff to monitor every move of our clinicians and patients. Information provided to the IDU gives a full 360-degree approach from dispatch to discharge regarding the patient interaction to keep our team safe. In addition, our IDU team has been participating in all healthcare, MEMA, skilled nursing facility, and municipal meetings for updates relating to emergency medical services. CDC and Mass DPH updates are reviewed daily for the most up-to-date approaches to care.
2—We were the first ambulance service to implement new Emergency Medical Dispatch procedures to prescreen callers for important information relating to their illness. This caller interrogation triggers a code isolation warning to first responders of a potential danger and to don personal protection equipment prior to patient contact. That code isolation language is relayed to the receiving medical centers allowing receiving staff to best prepare to handle the patient.
3-Our commitment to cleanliness is unsurpassed. We perform an ongoing rigorous vehicle and equipment cleaning process, as well as at our communications centers and base locations. We are applying disinfectant that is effective against coronavirus on vehicle exteriors and interiors as well as on all medical equipment. All of our vehicles are equipped with exhaust ventilation, which is activated during such cases in addition to the proper personnel protection equipment for medical crews and patients.
4-In our base locations, we are disinfecting common surfaces even more frequently than our normal rigid protocol requires, and we are making hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes widely available throughout.

Our team of 2,000 medical care professionals understands and appreciates the importance of what we do for you each day. We value our relationship with you, and I want to personally assure you that your safety and well-being will always be our first priority.
If you have any questions or concerns at any time, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We are here for you when you need us.
We look forward to serving you when you need us.
Sincerely,
Mark Brewster
